Bio: Julia Minne holds a PhD in Communication from the University of Montreal and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in Arts and Art Sciences. Her research-creation thesis focused on the reactivation and narration of the archives of the feminist artists' centre Vidéo Femmes. The creative component of her research took the form of Vidéo Femmes, Fragments d'un héritage féministe, a collaborative digital publication produced in partnership with the Cinémathèque québécoise, several members of Vidéo Femmes, and the distributor Spira.

She also worked for seven years at the Cinémathèque québécoise as Acquisitions Manager and Head of the Savoirs Communs du Cinéma initiative, which consisted of working on the visibility of feminist film knowledge and archives on the web. Today, she is a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University under the supervision of Alanna Thain and regularly collaborates with various cultural organizations in Quebec and internationally.
